Hi, I am Amy Burghardt. I will be receiving my Bachelor of Education (Elementary PreK-3) in April 2012 from the University of Regina.
I grew up in Wadena, Saskatchewan then moved to Regina to go to University. My longing to teach began at a very early age and it has always been my goal in life to be an elementary teacher. My teaching experience began in high school with grade 1 children’s liturgy at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Wadena. In my pre-internship I taught grade 1 at St. Dominc Savio school and I loved it! Next I taught grade 3 at Henry Janzen school in Regina for my internship. At Janzen I also taught a math group that had students from grades 1, 2, and 3. From these experiences I have developed strong classroom management skills, a variety of teaching strategies, and strong communication skills with administration, fellow teachers, parents and, most importantly, students.
My greatest interests are reading, writing, and travelling. Reading and writing have always been a passion of mine since I was in elementary school. Travelling is something I developed a passion for in the last 5 years when I went on a trip to Italy in Greece. I am currently planning another vacation for this coming summer.
